To get the best results for a spray tan, your preparation and after care is everything.
Your skin is your biggest organ, and any spray tan is only going to stay on the skin, for as long as the cells that have been sprayed stay put. For this reason, it is crucial you exfoliate extremely well before your tan, so the freshest skin cells are available to be tanned.

PREPARING FOR YOUR TAN
Doing the right preperation for your tan is just as important as the aftercare to ensure your tan looks better for longer!
- 24 hours prior to your tan exfoliate your body, paying extra care to dryer areas such as knees, elbows and ankles or any areas where old tan is sticking
- Perform any form of hair removal at least 24 hours prior to your spray tan appointment
- On the day, bring loose clothing and open toed shoes to ensure you don't accidentally rub off your tan
- Avoid wearing make-up, deoderant or any lotions on the day to avoid it interferring with your tan. If this is unavoidable ask our friendly staff for a wipe!
- Shower in the morning on your tan day, this helps to ensure your skin is clean and ready
- Bring a hairtie to keep your hair up, and out of the way. If needed, our staff always have some on hand!
IMMEDIATE AFTERCARE
- Avoid water or sweating while your tan develops to avoid streaks
- Please avoid touching you skin, as it can transfer and cause some spots to be darker or lighter
- During your first shower avoid using soap, and gently rub your skin till the water runs clear
- Pat dry with a towel, do not rub yourself dry as this is a form of light exfoliation and will reduce the tans lifespan
- Rinse in lukewarm water, avoid hot water
- Avoid using deoderant or lotions while your tan develops as this can stop it from devoloping


LONG-TERM AFTERCARE
- Moisturise daily, if you find you have dryer skin, do it morning and night to ensure your tan stays properly hydrated
- Avoid exfoliating your skin, as this will take your tan off before you are ready to remove it
- Avoid shaving or any form of hair removal as this is a form of exfoliation and may lighten your tan
- Clorinated or salt water are fine to swim in as long as it is limited but it will affect the longetivity of your tan
- Drink plenty of water! Keeping your skin hydrated assists in the tans lifespan
- Invest in a tan extender/tanning body butter. This will help keep your tan looking good for longer. We sell various options online and in-store so check it out!

Waxing is a popular hair removal method that involves applying a layer of warm wax to the skin and then quickly removing it, taking hair with it. It can be done on various body parts such as the legs, arms, face, underarms, and bikini area.
It can be slightly uncomfortable (Especially in sensitive areas) but here at Bronzed Goddess we make it as enjoyable as possible. Its worth getting for the results you acheive from it.
We suggest returning every 3 to 4 weeks to continue seeing results!

PREPARING FOR A WAX
- Let your hair grow! Your hair needs to be 1/4 inch long for it to be picked up by the wax
- Exfoliate gently a few times a week to reduce ingrowns and for a moother wax
- Moisturise your skin (Except on the day of your wax) to keeo your skin hydrated
- Shower with warm water on the day, this helps to ensure the skin is clean and opens the pores
- Avoid lengthened sun exposure to ensure the skin is not sensitive
- Avoid using retinols, acids or any exfoliating treatment on the area of your wax 48 hours prior to your appointment
- Wear loose clothing to your appointment, this helps prevent irritation after your wax
WAXING AFTERCARE
- Avoid exfoliating 48 hours after your appointment, waxing is a form of exfoliation and exfoliating the area further will irritate it
- Avoid touching the area to ensure there is no bacteria transferred into the pores
- Try not to sweat or get into anyhthing hot, such as the gym, saunas, hot showers etc. This can cause irritation to the area
(Stick to lukewarm water) - Avoid salt and chlorinated water for 24 to 48 hours to prevent irritation
- For any redness, take a anti-histamine or apply aloe-vera to the area
- Invest in an ingrown serum to help prevent ingrowns from forming. We sell some on our online store!

PREPARING FOR YOUR LASHES
Overall there isn't much you need to do prior to your appointment, just come as you are and enjoy the treatment!
- Avoid wearing any make-up to your appointment
- Avoid oil-based products around your eyes for the 24 hours prior to you appoinment as oils break down the adhesive used
- Prepare to take out your contacts, your eyes will be closed during the appointment and we want to avoid irritation
- If you are pregnant, be aware you will be lying down on your back for 1 hour+ so prepare accordingly so you are comfortable
- Use the bathroom prior to your appointment as you are unable to get up during the treatment
LASH AFTERCARE
- Avoid using oil based products around your eye, as this breaks down the adhesive
- Avoid using mascara as this can damage the lashes and shorten their time-span
- Brush and wash your lashes every day! Keeps them clean and looking good
- Avoid getting your lashes wet during the first 24 hours to allow the bond to fully set
- Avoid picking/pulling on your lashes as this can damage the natural lash
- Don't use a lash curler as this can break the bond and damage the natural lash
- Brush your lashes daily to keep them straight and looking good
- Sleep on your back or side to ensure your pillow is not rubbing against your lashes

PREPARING FOR A PIERCING
Preparing for your appointment will help to ensure the procedure goes smoothly and safely
- Drink plenty of water before and after your appointment, this helps to avoid potential dizzyness
- Eat a light meal prior to your appointment, this helps to ensure your body is ready to heal and avoid issues during the appointment
- Avoid alcohol and blood thinners the 24 hours prior to your appointment as these can affect the healing process and cause increased bleeding
- Prepare for the aftercare, such as buying a saline solution. The aftercare is incredibly important to ensure it heals smoothly
- Clean the area prior, we will clean it at the appointment aswell but doing it prior helps to decrease the risk of infection
PIERCING AFTERCARE
Its super important to follow the aftercare after your appointment, this helps to prevent infections or delays in the healing process
- Before you touch your piercing clean your hands to ensure no bacteria is transferred
- Clean your piercing with saline solution, using a cotton tip/pad and gently apply to area 1-2 times a day
- Avoid twisting/playing with your new piercing, this affects the healing process
- Be gentle! Any knocks or sleeping on the piercing slows the healing of it
- Do not remove the jewellery before it has healed (Ask our staff about healing times)
- Watch for infection, minor swelling or redness, anything other than that may be a sign bacteria has gotten in
